Digital Imaging of Montana was created in 1996 as part of an on-going physical
therapy program I was involved with in an effort to help me recover from a severe electrocution received while working on the railroad as an electrician in 1990.
The accident destroyed the majority of my nervous system and what nerves grew back connected in very strange ways. I was labeled as "disabled" by the Railroad Administration. I could no longer work in my career choice or enjoy my hobby of custom painting, but needed an outlet to exercise my mind. With the help of a Power Mac 7500, I started to experiment with graphic programs. After 4 years of trying different kinds of software, I settled on one company which offered 4 separate 3-D programs. But that move required a major up-grade to the Mac. In 2001, the slow Mac was retired for the faster high-speed, dual-processor Mac G4 running OS 10+. In the quest for faster speeds and much more memory, the G4 was upgraded to a Mac G5 dual processor with OS 10+ in 2006. The two Macs are networked together to render the most complex of images.
Before the accident, I custom-painted vehicles for over 20 years as a hobby. I used candies, pearls, metal-flakes and custom mixes to paint everything from over-the-road semis and pick-up trucks to vans, custom cars, hot rods and motorcycles. All paint jobs included my specialty of pinstripes and/or free-hand airbrush murals. Some vehicles went on to win awards for "Best of Paint" at area car shows.
Prints come in three popular sizes: 11 x 14 ($50), 13 x 19 ($50), and Blank Notecard 6 X 9 ($5).
